Hannah Soundbite: Making Tea

Hannah is my little tea-making assistant each day.  She rides on my hip while I fix myself a drink, pointing out the essentials with enthusiasm.  

Tea!  Kettle!  Milk!  Sugar! 

I hold out the canister, she grabs a tea bag, and drops it into the empty mug for me.  She then declares, Hot!, when I add the steaming water.

But yesterday after I added my milk and sugar, she softly said, 

Bye bye milk.  Bye bye sugar.

And gosh was it sweet.  It was so sweet.
